How to Stick to Your New Year's Resolution

Jacquelyn Garcia - Wednesday, January 11, 2017

You may have started out the year strong and more determined than ever, but by this point in January are you really feeling like eating only celery for the rest of the year? Probably not. And it’s not your fault! We have society and media encouraging us to make resolutions & keep them all year long (which is great!), but it turns out these resolutions aren’t always realistic. Not to worry! Here’s how to tailor your New Year’s resolutions and set yourself up for success!

1. Break down your resolution.

Instead of aiming straight for the finish line, set checkpoints for yourself. Choose one smaller goal for every month or two; with a more realistic vision, you’re more likely to stay on track. For example, if your resolution is to read 50 books by December, pace yourself and take on a couple each month and you’ll be well on your way in no time!

2. Create a plan.

After setting those checkpoints, assign dates in a planner when you think you should have one book completed. Do this for the next few months and work your way to year’s end because having a visual plan is more effective than a mental one.

3. Buddy up.

It’s no secret that having a friend on board is more fun. They’ll keep you accountable and encourage you when you’re veering off track. They may even give you some competition so grab a friend and tackle your resolutions together!

4. Track your progress.

If you’ve been following the steps above, you’re definitely seeing progress. Write it down, take photos, document it how you feel fit. Let it serve as a reminder that you’re succeeding at your goal and it’s sure to motivate you to keep it up!

5. Reward yourself.

Don’t forget to treat yourself along the way. Give yourself a break from all the hustle when you’ve reached a checkpoint. It’ll keep you striving towards your ultimate goal.

With these 5 tips, you’ll be well on your way to fulfilling your New Year’s resolutions and still on track months down the road! Happy New Year!

Hi, just came across this article. Its a fantastic illustration of how small to medium sized companies can use Awards based marketing to get their companies recognised on the 1st page of Google. Awards programmes offer many benefits to participants. After all they bring publicity and you can share the news of your win with your employees, clients, industry peers and target market as much as you like. Additonally awards offer prestige and status, giving potential clients peace of mind that they are working with a reputable company. There are many types of awards programmes, including those that host awards ceremonies (and you pay per table), organisations that award only their members (and you pay for membership and advertising) and those that provide marketing materials. The latter is a great way for those who are unsure about the benefits of using corporate awards programmes because generally nominees and winners do not have to pay a penny to be a participant. Winners often receives online recognition, usually with a reach much greater than their own marketing efforts can offer. Other free benefits can include the use of an press release. Most participants have the option to purchase additional marketing materials to further enhance their win, if they wish to, for use in social media campaigns, on their own website, email marketing campaigns or in customer newsletters. commented on 09-Dec-2019 08:11 AM
I do believe all of the concepts you have presented in your post.
They're very convincing and can definitely
work. Nonetheless, the posts are very quick for newbies. Could you
please lengthen them a little from next time? Thank you for
the post.
